About the Role
Overview:
ProxyLink is seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Generalist with experience in recruitment, performance management, and labor relations to support our client. This hybrid position is based in Mississauga, ON. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting all aspects of Human Resources, focusing on managing and maintaining positive relationships in recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compensation, and other employment-related issues. The Human Resources Generalist will work closely with the HR team to ensure all HR policies and practices align with the company’s mission, values, and strategic goals.
Responsibilities:
Employee Support: Serve as the key point of contact for employees and managers regarding employee relations, performance management, compensation, and other employment-related issues.
Incident Management: Assist with employee incidents, discipline, and terminations. Prepare and distribute related documentation in consultation with the Operations team.
Coaching and Guidance: Provide training, ongoing coaching, and feedback to management and employees on relevant areas of development.
Inclusive Environment: Create and maintain a welcoming and inclusive environment for all employees.
Exit Interviews: Conduct employee exit interviews, identify trends, and provide recommendations for effective change.
Performance Reviews: Conduct performance reviews with direct supervisors and their employees.
Inquiry Response: Respond to inquiries from employees and managers promptly, ensuring a high degree of customer service.
Grievance Reporting: Update the grievance report and provide relevant metrics.
Complaint Investigation: Receive and investigate all employee and labor relations complaints, including workplace violence and harassment, ESA violations, and human rights complaints. Prepare reports with findings and recommendations.
Qualifications:
Minimum three years of progressive experience in an HR Generalist role.
Previous experience working in a unionized environment.
Comprehensive knowledge of HR-related legislation, including the Ontario Employment Standards Act (ESA), Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC), Ontario Labour Relations Act (OLRA), etc.
Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and effective multi-tasking are essential.
General computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office.
Post-secondary diploma in a related field.
CHRP/CHRL designation is mandatory.
