About The Role
Overview:
The OS&D Coordinator plays a critical role in handling freight exceptions involving overages, shortages, damages, and delays. This position focuses on investigating incidents, managing claims from start to finish, collaborating with carriers and customers, and ensuring efficient resolutions that protect customer relationships and reduce financial risk.
Compensation:
$60,000 - $70,000/Yearly
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the complete lifecycle of freight claims, including intake, investigation, liability assessment, negotiation, and final settlement.
Analyze and verify supporting documentation such as Bills of Lading, Proofs of Delivery, invoices, inspection reports, carrier contracts, and tariffs.
Receive and evaluate OS&D reports submitted by carriers, partners, and customers, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Submit claims to carriers, insurance providers, and third parties within required timelines and actively follow up until resolution.
Coordinate freight recovery, redelivery, reconsignment, or return logistics as needed.
Review declared shipment values, confirm adherence to liability limits, and assist with insurance coverage where applicable.
Maintain consistent communication with operations and customer service teams by providing timely claim status updates.
Track claim trends, identify recurring issues, and contribute to preventative strategies to minimize future OS&D incidents.
Ensure all claims are processed in accordance with internal policies, customer agreements, and regulatory standards.
Act as the primary point of contact for customers regarding claims, providing professional and solution-focused service.
Qualifications:
3–4 years of experience in transportation, freight logistics, or claims administration (LTL experience considered a strong asset).
Solid knowledge of cargo claims procedures and OS&D best practices.
Strong familiarity with transportation documentation including Bills of Lading, Proofs of Delivery, and carrier claim requirements.
Excellent analytical thinking, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
Strong communication and customer service capabilities with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Experience with TruckMate and Microsoft Office.
